North Dakota Post Office total loss following fire

SELFRIDGE, N.D. (KFYR) – The Selfridge Post Office is a total loss after a fire broke out around 2 a.m. Monday.

The Selfridge Rural Fire District says five trucks, a tanker and several volunteers worked to contain the blaze.

Those who had P.O. boxes will have to go to Fort Yates to receive their mail. Mail delivery will now be sorted and sent out from Fort Yates

The State Fire Marshall, FBI, ATF and BIA are investigating the cause of the fire. No other buildings were damaged.

A spokesperson from the fire district said the building was about 75 years old, and used to be a bank, then a grocery store, before it was the post office.
