Mail Carrier in Providence Threatened With Knife After Confronting Alleged Thief

A United States mail carrier was reportedly threatened with a knife by a man in Providence on Monday.

The postal worker told police he had dropped off two packages at a property on Bellevue Street near Cranston Street.

He then saw a man walk up and grab the two packages.

The mail carrier said he approached the man and told him to return the packages because they did not belong to him.

The man then pulled a knife out and told the carrier to get out of the way or he would stab him.

Providence Police are looking for the male suspect who fled on foot.
