Man hit by mail truck after running onto Columbia Rd

COLUMBIA COUNTY, S.C. (WJBF) – A man is in the hospital after running onto Columbia Road Monday evening.

Reports from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office say that Jorge Mendez was standing on the shoulder when he began to run onto the roadway and into the path of a U.S. Postal Truck.

Authorities say Mendez is in stable condition is at fault for the collision.

No word on what charges, if any, will be filed.
